Monday Monday Monday

I am still in weekend mode I think, I had a great weekend up at home with my mum. We did breakfast, sat under sprinklers and just had a relaxing few days. I drove back to my house yesterday and met a big storm, it was really nice. I jumped out and took photo's, I shall post at a later date.

I'm really tired today so this will be short, but my time away inspired me in some way. I got back and decided I wanted to officially start up my freelancing and register my business name etc. Very exciting, I have a photographer that is referring clients to me, which is exciting so hopefully I will get some work soon. But in the meantime I have my day job 9-5 so that will keep me going aswell. So I will be a busy bee I imagine.

well that's all I can manage for today, this was a boring one I know, the next will be more exciting I promise.

Now I'm off to listen to the grates, I need her energy to wake me up!

Bye for now

Things I love Thursday

My first things I love Thursday! Gala is such a good blogger. If you have not already, you
need to visit here on a regular basis. Gala. ok so here goes, first of the ranks is this cute kitsch mug my mum got for me. Makes having a tea in the mornings so enjoyable. hehe. I love that my mum, she sees things she knows I would like and thinks 'Tilli has to have that!'

Next is my journal I recieved for my 21st birthday. It is so precious, I write all my special things in it, the best part is the notepad is removable so I can change it around when its full!

Strawberries and cream chuppa chups!
enough said.
A boy from work bought me one today.
The choice was banana or strawberries!

I love roadtripping home to see the parents. I plug my IPod in and off I go on my 3 hour drive. I practically could drive the road blindfolded I have driven it so much! Im looking forward to a spa under the stars, soaking up sun on the beach, and drinking margaritas with my friends! perfect and well worth the drive!!!

That brings me to
my IPOD. I love love love it. I take it to work with me also to the gym and am off in my own little world. I can't imagine life without it. Not to mention a car trip without it! Best bday present!

Old photo's, I love looking back on the and remembering. Photos are just so precious.

New photos, I love taking spontaneous pics, my mac takes good spontaneous pics with crazy effects.

My Nikon slr, I have yet to master it, however very soon I wish to. I hope to take some awesome photos while at home, will keep you updated!

I am so tall so I can rarely wear high-heels let alone these! But I so so wish I could. I love love shoes. *sigh* I need to find a basketballer for a man!

I can only dream!
ok well that will have to be it for now as I have to go back my bags!

Till another day.

where words fail, music speaks

oh I know one of the veronicas has it tattooed on her, but I really like the quote.

Today is my music blog. My first artist I discovered one day whilst on a holiday for my mums 50th birthday. We were going out and having dinner and a few (too many) drinks. I could hear music as we crossed the road, I could make it out to be either Neil Young or Pink Floyd. Turns out to be Floyd, one of my favorite songs, and I was instantly hooked. I needed to go in and hear more. We plonked ourselves down and I sat in awe of this singer. By far one of the most raw and beautiful voices. This guy had some serious talent. After a few sambucca shots, he was open to request, I managed to yell out Neil young. He didn't want to play him though much to my despair. The night came to an end and we left back to our motel room. The next night he was playing at the same place, so we once again went in and sat down. Not fully recovered from the sambucca I decided to take it easy and have a few baileys instead. Long story short I saw a sign promoting his new cd, and I thought I had to have it, so in the end I ended up with his cd, and music to play on the drive home the next day.

sooo here's a link to his myspace and see for yourself. Ryan Giles

Next up is Final Days Of Autumn. A band that nearly made me cry, as the lead singer happens to be out of my favorite band The Butterfly Effect, and the thought of that band ending made me sad. But both bands are still together and hopefully releasing and EP very soon. Last year late December the band came and played here with Small Mercies. Everyone was there to see small mercies and I was there to see FDOA. They were intensely good. I went by myself and couldn't have enjoyed it more. They are true performers and the cover of mad world took my breathe away. If you ever get a chance to see them, I defiantly recommend them.
Listen to them Here

Also Matt Gresham, I found the CD at my parents house I don't know how they got it, they don't even know. So I think in some strange way I was meant to find it. If you like Xavier Rudd you will fall in love will him. He has honest and real lyrics with a sound to match. You can here some of his songs here

Top 10 songs for this Wednesday
1. Our house breathing - Josh Pyke
(possibly has some of the most beautiful lyrics written.)

2. 7 days - The Butterfly Effect

3. Constant Rain - Melodyssey

(he has a distinct voice, also check out aquaplane of the old album)

4. Funeral For A Trend - British India

5. I Want You-Kings Of Leon

6. Ain't no Sunshine - Bill Withers

7. Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd

(enough said)

8. Bleeding All Over You - Martha Wainwright

(serious girl power here)

9. Please Mr. Postman - The Marvelettes

(just give it a go :D)

10. She's Got The Time - Newton Faulkner

(makes me smile every time)

Righteo Enjoy. I hope to see you another day.
Much Love

Monday, November 17, 2008

Yes it's that time of the week. Monday. ugh, Mondays are not fun. I'm at work and cured my mondayistis by stumbling across this cute website. I'm sure I'm the last to jump on the bandwagon and everyone already knows about it but FutureMe is such a nice concept. I decided to write myself a letter and send it to myself in 2 years time.

Dear FutureMe,

I am writing from work, not the most inspiring place. It's monday the 17 of november 2008 and I'm suffering mondayitis. I have just graduated and now In full time work. This probably wasn't where I imagined myself being. I have high hopes of making it out there in that competitive work. At the moment I just feel like I'm not good enough. I want to find that spark and my love for art again, at the moment the idea of painting or drawing seems like a chore.

I'm 21 year old and sometimes I just feel tired and uninspired. I hope things are different now. I really really hope they are.

I hope I have someone beside me to inspire me every morning I wake up. I hope that I have traveled and seen the world. I hope that I still hold love and compassion in my heart. And that I am still surrounded by beautiful friends and family.

Most of all I hope your happy. My advice is to use your talent and never let it go it can take you on a journey. Let go of memories that make your heart ache, they aren't good for the soul. Remember the good times and adventures. And lastly don't forget to visit home. Home is where the heart is.

love me.

Have you written one? If not I think you should.
That is all for now, I'm doing pretty good, this means 3 days in a row I've blogged.

So far so good

I have managed to make it back for another day, another blog. I was pondering what I would write about this morning while sitting in my pj's eating special K. (very inspiring)

So I decided to make a collage of my favorite moments in time, not all just some. I love to reflect on things that I've done, especially through photo's. Photo's are one of the most precious things in life.

That's Tilli with an 'I'

Just Tilli stems from my name and everyone asking me is it short for Matilda or something else. And my reply always being "no, just Tilli."

I can't tell you what to expect from my blog, as I'm not sure myself what to expect. But for now I will tell you it will be art and music related as these are my two passions in life. I want to keep up with this blog and hopefully not forget about it tomorrow. Will see.

Something I'm digging right now, a canvas painting from a great friend of mine. Kindly placed in my paws as she felt the girl looks like me. I can see the resemblance.hehe.

The 'D.A.N.C.E' painting by my close friend shelley.

The suggested resemblance.

That is all for now, I hope to see you another day.
